The Isle of Skye is the largest and most northerly of the Inner Hebrides in the  Highlands. The Gaelic name for the island is An t-Eilean Sgitheanach meaning ‘winged isle’ because of its shape. Perhaps more apt is the Norse name which means ‘isle of the mist’ or ‘misty isle’.

 

The Isle of Skye, in Scotland has much to offer holiday makers and visitors.
